The Boise Bench is considered the on the city's earliest suburbs, development on the bench started in the early 1900's. With the completion of Boise Depot in 1925, and increased access to the bench with the help of street cars and paved roads families started to move to the bench. From the beginning the Bench was platted with larger lots than the North End with architectural diversity, including Tudors, Ranch, Cape Cod, Colonial Revival, and Spanish Revivals.
